The summer school was held on the 5th and 6th September 2012 and was attended by the IRMED Fellows as well as young researchers from two other EC ITN projects: NANODRUG and CHEBANA. A total of 68 participants took part in this event.

The two-day program included scientific lectures as well as complementary skills lectures by Dr Roger Kaspar, Dr Joachim Wegener, Dr Alessandra Bossi, Dr Andra Sinz, Prof. Marina Resmini and Prof. Karsten Haupt.

After the lectures the Fellows from all three EC projects were mixed up into groups where they were given a project proposal to discuss and evaluate against the official evaluation criteria. Several discussions took place, the evaluation results of the proposals were recorded and a priority panel to rank the proposals ended the Second Summer School program in Biarritz.

The contributions of all these researchers enhanced the quality of the events and provided excellent networking opportunities.
